It has been decades of this debate despite Tolkien’s own words that always confirmed LOTR had Christian undertones, helping CS Lewis convert to Christianity and support for Franco’s regime. Pagan LARPers and normie LOTR fans seethe at the idea because they either view LOTR as a basic fantasy book or some crypto-pagan text. All this because the Christian themes are “symbolic.”
The mere fact Tolkien didn’t make it obvious got a guy like Jack Posobiec to declare it a work of paganism while he was on the Charlie Kirk Show without Charlie Kirk. Citing that Jesus and the Church weren’t directly mentioned in the book, to him, that means the symbolism doesn’t exist and it’s some Greek mythology fan fiction.
Props to the cohosts for not agreeing with this dogshit tier take. No one other than retarded leftist women who horde Wiccan slop agrees with him.
For those who think it’s some bit. He is dead serious over this belief. Even declaring that he won’t hear evidence that Tolkien was closer to his “ideology” because invoking stuff about his faith or support for Franco means he automatically “wins.”
Keep this in mind when you hear these types complain about the lack of art within the right wing in the future. These larpers will decry anything before them and demand you like some AI slop that appeals to no one.
