The whole point of these old laws that banned things that were immoral being repealed in the modern age isn’t that these laws were doing anything, Its a message to the country that these laws were apart of some evil time of racism, sexism, homophobia, etc and how America is grateful now that it has become a huge brown gay orgy. Every time the news writes and politicians yap about how we have progressed from a time where homosexuality was a crime and adultery was illegal while society has gotten worse with those things being free and open.

In 1907 New York passed a law that banned the practice of adultery in the State. This law was made in a time where it was universally accepted that cheating on your spouse was a immoral act that negatively affects society. In recent decades that law became worthless with America changing the concept of Freedom from what it was in 1776 to this whole libertarian free for all because the founders would totally support Amazon’s unregulated control or allowing all these fetishes and sexualities as long as it isn’t forced dude. From what happened to New York when all these laws were deemed unconstitutional people would wish we kept them around.

Until that happens we have a country where we are going to make a spectacle over repealing a law from the 1900s that contradicts with what we believe in 2024.

Adultery is no longer a crime in New York.

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday signed off on repealing a 1907 law prohibiting the act.

New York’s penal law previously said that “a person is guilty of adultery when he engages in sexual intercourse with another person at a time when he has a living spouse, or the other person has a living spouse.”

It was considered a Class B misdemeanor, which carries a jail sentence of up to three months.

The New York State Senate called the law “outdated.”

Assemblyman Charles Lavine wrote the bill overturning the law. He said 13 people were arrested and charged under the law, while five people were convicted. Though, the numbers may not be completely accurate due to some court records not being easily accessible. The most recent case was in 2010, but it was thrown out.

The last case was in 2010 which was overturned but it was such an important issue they got rid of it anyway. New York for the last 70 years was the place for all sorts of cringe that now plagues all of America.
