The YouTube that you grew up with no longer exists

2024 is not going to be a good year for the people who watched YouTube for a long time since all the veteran YouTubers who have been around since the late 2000s / early 2010s are finally packing up and retiring from being a YouTuber.

MattPat, MeatCanyon, Tom Scott, and Joel Haver have announced their intention to retire from YouTube after a decade of uploads.

This development has seen some worry from the YouTube community since this sudden mass retirement of long time veterans from the site is something that hasn’t happened before in the history of YouTube.

Well for me its that YouTube just isn’t the site these guys had when they started out. When they started YouTube is more free and open to pay you for controversial content so anything could be posted and get viral. Well after big Soda said they won’t put ads on Filthy Frank YouTube decided to ban all of it and the site has been a shithole ever since. Unless you were a celebrity or started out in 2012 you are fucked in trying to start something on the site.

Another thing is that the new demographic of YouTube wants shit like Skibidi Toilet or Family Guy or this Elsagate 2.0 trash that has taken over the algorithm. I mean YouTube destroyed itself before with Elsagate 1.0, but now its back in full swing and they do nothing since all the videos are making money for them when they demonetized any YouTuber that is entertaining in the name of having Coke or Pepsi ads.

YouTube is no longer the one you grew up with. Its time to just stop making videos on the latest YouTube corporate drama and just accept that they will never change back to the one we all knew and loved.
