Nippon Steels buys out US Steel

Even though I am an America First in terms of trade and economy, I started to care less about the big corporations being bought up by outside influences more than the average anti China person would.

I mean they don’t even do anything good for us as American owned companies and they don’t even make their crap here, they build it in China, Vietnam, Mexico, so when the foreign corporation buys them out it pretty much doesn’t change it other then maybe they get a slightly better leadership.

I would now care less if Microsoft, Apple, Walmart, and all the DOW Jones / NASDAQ / SPY 500 companies get bought out by some European or Chinese Company compared to them destroying local businesses by their sheer Prescence in the area.

Nippon Steel is on its way to buyout US Steel which is right now the biggest producer of the husk that is American Steel production that died after we decided that buying from China for few dollars less was better than just making it in house.

WHYY

U.S. Steel, the Pittsburgh steel producer that played a key role in the nation’s industrialization, is being acquired by Nippon Steel in an all-cash deal valued at approximately $14.1 billion.

The transaction is worth about $14.9 billion when including the assumption of debt. The combined company will be among the top three steel-producing companies in the world, according to 2022 figures from the World Steel Association.

The price tag for U.S. Steel is nearly double what was offered just four months ago by rival Cleveland Cliffs. U.S. Steel, which rejected that offer, confirmed the offering price from Nippon early Monday.

That tie-up would have created one of the top four outside of China, which dominates global steel production. U.S. Steel executives were asked about a potential pushback from U.S. regulators over security concerns on Monday.

“This is going to increase competition here in the United States with a great ally to the United States,” answered U.S. Steel CEO David Burritt. “It’s a great fit and we do not see that as a high level risk factor. We’d say low level of risk.”

I’m kinda glad it was the Japanese and not the Chinese this time. Because at least with Japan they want results when it comes to their investment and if they manage to rapidly grow the Steel production which is already a dead industry it could launch an incentive to make more Steel here.

Right now all the Steel is from China and we all know how good that is considering our infrastructure is the worst in the developed world only rivaled by the 3rd world itself which is worser for obvious reasons.

We feared of a Japanese take over of American society in the 80s and responded by destroying Japan’s economy forever with currency manipulation while China was given special trade status and privileges a decade later with no resistance from the exact same people who feared of Japan buying everything up.

Complaining about Japan buying this up doesn’t compare to what China and Mexico have done in destroying our manufacturing through Free Trade.

Right now we got to send a message to the American Steel companies that we want our steel to made in the USA as we enact the tariffs on Foreign made Steel. And hey they might even use that steel to make irl Gundam’s in the distant future.
