House GOP looking to end single member motion to vacate to ensure no speakership is ever challenged again

The GOP and its donors were scared to death when Matt Gaetz stood up and said that Kevin McCarthy is a failure of a speaker and used the motion to vacate to throw his ass out for someone new. Well the GOP ended up selecting Mike Johnson who is essentially the same as before because like everyone that loved Kevin voted for him to preserve the wholesome stability in Congress or else America fails in shutdown.

And all the anti GOP establishment spunk from Republican voters is gone because they believe Mike is an anti Ukraine populist. So now they are going to end that rule that got Kevin out so that any speakership will never be challenged that way ever again.

House Republicans who want to prevent a handful of their members from evicting another speaker could get help from a surprising group: the eight of them who helped dethrone Kevin McCarthy.

Eager to avoid a repeat of their catastrophic October, Republicans are discussing changing House rules to prevent a single member from forcing a vote to fire the speaker. So far, the entire House GOP — but especially its conservatives — trust Speaker Mike Johnson more than McCarthy.

There isn’t going to be a fight the GOP is happy since their guy is still in and the MAGA caucus guys are happy since this guy is a little more on their page on some issues which is enough to calm the Trump base from ever complaining about the House.

And when Mike Johnson turns out to be the same guy to the mainstream base this privilege will be gone in the reasoning of “this might be too much rocking the boat for centrists in elections” and we don’t want to lose the centrist fence sitters don’t we?

Their replacement to this rule is to make it 112 members of the House in order to end a speakership. In which normie terms means the speaker will never be removed.

On one side, Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) floated requiring the support of 112 members of either party to trigger a vote on stripping the speaker’s gavel. On the other, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) — one of the eight who voted to oust McCarthy — threw out upping the current threshold from a single member to something like seven.

“The motion to vacate threshold was never my cause in January,” Biggs said in a brief interview, adding that while it “needs to be reasonable and rational so it remains a real tool … maybe one is too little.”

There is opposition but its mostly people defending it by raising it less or that they want “concessions” in favor of raising it.

High chance this rule goes out in the end. The GOP already won they just need Mike to sign on and end the single man motion to vacate and the Speakership will never be challenged again until the end of time.

Republican voters will just have to sit back and shut up as Kevin clones hold the position until Democrats just rule everything due to mass immigration.

All while pundits and conservative news people just pander on why we aren’t winning on anything when we control a branch.
